Your Trusted Garage Door Company in Phoenix

Garage Door Grunts is the only garage door service company I will ever use! They replaced our garage door in Glendale, Arizona. Their team was timely, professional and so kind. They took our garage door from old and dingy to shiny and new. We get compliments on it all the time! Can't recommend them enough!

What 4.9 Stars Across 600+ Reviews Actually Means

Ratings are easy to start and hard to sustain. A dozen reviews from friends gets anybody to five stars. Holding 4.9 across 600+ Google reviews means the average customer, on an average day, with an average problem, walked away satisfied. That is a different claim, and it is the one worth checking.

Every review on this page comes straight from our Google Business Profile. We do not write them, pick them or filter them. The widget pulls what Google shows, so you can go verify the same number yourself in about ten seconds.

What Customers Bring Up Most Often

Read through enough of them and the same four things keep surfacing.

  • How fast somebody showed up. “Came out right away.” “Showed on time.” Speed is what people remember about a garage door failure, because a dead door is not a problem you get to schedule around. We can have a technician at your door within an hour anywhere in Maricopa County.
  • The price matching the quote. “Fair price.” “Estimate was easy.” Our service call is $49.95 and a standard two-year double spring replacement is $395 installed, backed by a two-year guarantee. Those numbers are published because a quote that changes once the truck is in the driveway is the most common complaint in this trade.
  • Being told what is actually wrong. “Answered my questions.” “Knowledgeable.” A technician who can explain the failure is a technician who did not invent one.
  • The door being quiet afterward. “Dead silent and runs beautifully.” Noise is usually the first evidence a job was done right, whether that was a roller replacement or a full new door installation.

How to Judge Any Garage Door Company, Including This One

Review counts can be gamed. These cannot, and they apply to us as much as to anyone you are comparing us against.

  • Check the license. Arizona contractors are licensed through the Registrar of Contractors and anyone can be looked up in under a minute. Ours are ROC #333915 and ROC #364504.
  • Ask what the service call costs before the truck rolls. If nobody will give you a number over the phone, that is the number.
  • Ask whether the spring price includes labor, and what the warranty runs. A cheap spring with a ninety day warranty is not cheap.
  • Read the low reviews, not the high ones. Every company with hundreds of reviews has a few. What matters is whether the owner replied, and what the reply said.
  • Be careful comparing raw review totals. A company running a dozen locations across several states will always show more reviews than a local shop. That total describes their footprint, not the technician standing in your garage. Look at reviews from your part of the Valley instead.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Reviews

The questions we actually get asked about reviews, answered plainly.

Are these reviews real?

Yes, and you do not have to take our word for it. The widget on this page reads directly from our Google Business Profile through Trustindex, which verifies the source. Open Google Maps, search Garage Door Grunts, and you should see the same rating and the same count.

Why does the review count change sometimes?

Google periodically re-checks reviews it has already published and removes ones its systems flag, which can include legitimate ones. Counts also move when a reviewer deletes their own Google account. Our count has moved by a couple dozen in both directions over the past year for exactly these reasons. The rating has stayed at 4.9 throughout.

Do you delete bad reviews?

We cannot. Nobody can delete a Google review except the person who wrote it or Google. What we do instead is answer them. If you find a low review of us, read the reply underneath it and judge us on that.

What if I had a bad experience?

Call the office before you write the review, not because we are trying to head off the review, but because most of what goes wrong is fixable on a return visit. If we installed it and it is not right, we come back. If it is still not right after that, then write the review and we will answer it publicly.

Where else can I check you out?

The Arizona ROC for license status, the Better Business Bureau, and the reviews attached to our Google Business Profile. We are a Marine veteran-owned shop working out of North Phoenix, and the team page shows who actually answers the phone and turns the wrenches.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. Standard double spring replacements carry a two-year guarantee, and warranty terms on installs vary by door and manufacturer. Ask for the specific warranty in writing on your estimate before you approve any work, from us or anyone else.
